Study in Bulgaria After Class 12: Direct Admission With B2 English, or a Preparatory Year First

Class 12 from an Indian board gives access to Bulgarian bachelor's degrees and to the six-year Medicine course. Two things decide whether you start directly: English at B2, and for medicine, the entrance exam. Without them, universities offer a paid preparatory year.

Does it add a year to MBBS?

Yes, a preparatory year comes before the six years of Medicine and is not part of the degree. For the NMC's 2021 rules, what counts is the length of the medical course itself; check the NMC rules.

Questions about Study in Bulgaria after Class 12

Can I do MBBS in Bulgaria after 12th?

Yes, with NEET, 50% in physics, chemistry and biology, and a pass in the university's entrance exam. Medicine is a six-year course that starts straight after school.

Is a foundation course compulsory in Bulgaria?

No. A preparatory year is needed only if your English is below B2 or if you want to study in Bulgarian.

Does a preparatory year guarantee admission?

No page we read promises it. At the Medical University of Sofia the preparatory year ends with an exit exam, and admission to Medicine still depends on the entrance exam.
