Exams and intake
Pleven's English Medicine runs on its own calendar, starting in February. Exams are online, with camera and microphone and at least a 20 Mbps connection, on several dates from June to November. Students admitted on an early date have more time for the MES certificate and the visa.
Living in Pleven
The university gives realistic costs: a hostel place €75–95 a month, a room in a shared flat €150–300, a flat €300–400, a student travel card €8, and a minimum of €500 a month in total. Pleven is a small city, so life is cheap and quiet.

FMGE record
In 2025, 8 of 26 Pleven graduates passed in June and 8 of 19 in December. In 2015–2018 the record was poor (3 of 55), and in 2021 it was 4 of 12. Results have improved, and Pleven now has the largest Indian alumni group among Bulgarian schools.
Our view
The most practical Bulgarian choice for many Indian families: a moderate fee, a February start that fits a gap after NEET results, many exam dates and low living costs. The small city is the trade-off.
