Step by step
Check eligibility
Class 12 with physics, chemistry and biology, a qualifying NEET-UG score for India, and a passport valid for the whole first year.
Sit the entrance exam
Register with the university and take its biology and chemistry exam (plus English if needed).
Legalise and translate documents
Apostille your Class 12 certificate and transcript through the MEA, and have them translated into Bulgarian.
Submit the file
The university checks your documents, the Regional Department of Education recognises your Class 12, and the university sends the file to the Ministry of Education and Science.
Receive the MES certificate
Usually four to six weeks after the university files it. With it, book the D visa at VFS.

Documents
- Class 12 certificate and transcript, apostilled by the MEA and translated into Bulgarian;
- a document showing that your certificate gives access to university study in India;
- a medical certificate issued no more than one month before submission;
- passport copy and photographs;
- the university's application form, exam result and any English certificate.
MU Sofia asks D-visa applicants to submit paper originals plus a USB copy. Each university publishes its own list; follow it exactly.
